Decolorization and Degradation of Basic Blue 3 and Disperse Blue 56 Dyes Using Fenton Process
Authors
Abstract:
In this study, oxidative discoloration of Basic blue3 (B.B3) and Disperse blue56 (D.B56) dyes in synthetic textile wastewater has been studied using Fenton (Fe2+/H2 O2 ) process. The Fenton’s technique showed satisfactory color removal efficiency. The operating parameters such as concentration of Fe2+, dose of H2 O2 , initial concentration of dye, time contact, initial volume of wastewater that affected of discoloration in Fenton’sprocess were investigated. The optimized condition was determined and it was found that the obtained efficiency was about 99%for B.B3 and D.B56 dyes after 2 to 40 min ofcontact time based on initial concentration of dye for a given initial pHi =3. Chemical oxygen demand (COD)removal indicates partial and significant mineralization and degradation of two dyes B.B3 (88%) and D.B56(72%).The results of experiments showed that degradation of B.B3 and D.B56 in Fenton oxidation can be described with a pseudo-first-order kinetic model.

Decolorization of Methylene Blue from Aqueous Solution Using Ultrasonic / Fenton Like Process (RESEARCH NOTE)
Docolorization of Methylene Blue was investigating using a Ultrasonic/Fenton like reactor in batch mode. The effects of pH, reaction time, initial concentration of dye, H2O2 and Fe on the dye removal was studied. It was found that the increase of initial dye and H2O2 concentration and the increase of initial pH, are not beneficial for improving the dye removal efficiency. Increasing the dye con...
full textRemoval of Anionic Brown 14 and Cationic Blue 41 dyes via Fenton Process
Textile wastewater contains a number of dyes which are known to be toxic and carcinogenic. In this study the results show that the Fenton (Fe2+/H2O2) process is an efficient method for the removal of Acid Brown 14 (A.BR14) and Cationic Blue 41 (C.B41) dyes from textile wastewater. In this method, two reagents Fe2+and H2O2 are used and do not require any additional energy. Several experiment...
full textDecolorization of Cationic and Anionic Textile Blue Dyes from Aqueous Solution with Advanced Oxidation Process Using H2O2 and Various Catalysts
In this study, we used advanced oxidation process (AOP)for the removal of a cationic and anionic blue dyes, namely Basic Blue 3 (BB3) and Acid blue 62(AB62), from aqueous solutions. Fenton reactions are mixture of H2 O2 and Fe2+. However this paper investigates the application of twelve different catalysts such as: FeCl2 , FeSO4, (NH4 )Fe(SO4 )2 , FeCl3 , Nano iron (Fe0 ), Fe(NO3 )3 , K2FeO4 , ...

In this study, the oxidation of dye from colored wastewater by H2O2/ MWCNT’s multi walls carbon nano tubes solution assisted with UV radiation was investigated. Disperse Blue 56 DB 56 was used as a model dye. Adsorption behavior of DB56 from aqueous solution onto MWCNT’s was investigated under various conditions such as initial pH value, dye concentration, H2O2 and MWCNT’s dosage. Maximum adsor...
